Chris Huen Sin Kan (b. 1991, Hong Kong; active London) is a contemporary Chinese artist known for his sensitive figural paintings using a technique inspired by Chinese ink painting that explore the minute experiences of everyday life. His paintings are characterized by bold brushstrokes, intricate textures, and a rich interplay of light and shadow.
His subjects are typically his family members, wife, kids and pets painted from memory and depicted in nature. He earned a BA in Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 and currently lives in London, where he had a summer residency at Royal Academy Schools in 2022. His artwork is in the permanent collections of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; and K11 Art Foundation, Hong Kong.
