Han Bing (Chinese, b. 1986, active Paris) is a contemporary artist based in Paris. Han’s contemporary practice uniquely captures the vibrant dynamics of urban landscapes as she tirelessly searches the city, from subway stations to architectural facades, to uncover compelling textures and patterns that embody the essence of urban life.
Capturing these scenes with her camera, Han then reimagines the images on canvas, transforming these imperfections into art. Her painting technique creates unique textures by blending different elements into new forms that lean towards abstraction. Drawing inspiration from theater, science, and literature, her work is closely aligned with the Western artistic movement of Nouveau Réalisme. Han has had notable solo exhibitions at the Passerelle Centre d'Art Contemporain, France, Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery, Night Gallery, and Galerie Marguo, and her work was recently acquired by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA.
