Born and raised in Long Beach, Tidawhitney Lek (b. 1992, active Los Angeles) is a contemporary painter whose large-scale figurative canvases often feature multiple narratives occurring simultaneously, merging colorful everyday scenes from both her American upbringing and her family's Cambodian roots.
She earned a BFA from Cal State University of Long Beach (2017) and she was included in the prestigious 2023 “Made in L.A.” Hammer Museum biennial while having a concurrent single-artist show at the Long Beach Museum of Art's downtown site. Her artwork is in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and has been exhibited at the Long Beach Museum of Art and Jeffrey Deitch Gallery. Read more
